I've prepared 22 of the swag items for the north park craft show. I'm not sure how many more I'm going to make. I suppose I can make 100 samples. I'm enclosing 2 stitch markers per swag packet using up odd beads that i don't have enough to make a whole set of... so it's of no problem. it just takes time to assemble them. i should aim to do a couple each night.

in the mean time, I made an mknit stitch marker set that I'm planning on using for the shop, and an <3 etsy one which i like as well.

I've set aside more letters for the future wool, yarn, purl, knit, etsy, for future orders.

I don't know how much longer i can keep this up, but i guess there's no harm in just leaving the etsy store.

not wanting to knit, since that's all I have been doing lately, I broke out all the supplies to make the samples for the swag that i'm going to submit to the north park craft show. I have put together 16 samples before I gave up and made some stitch markers for etsy. For my samples, i'm just putting an mismash of stitch markers from my collection... like beads that i like, but that i don't have nearly enough of to make it into a whole set. I like how it's not matching.

I am on a yellow kick, i want to go to the bead store since i'm on my yellow kick. i like this set of stitch marker a lot, it's really pretty in person, i just couldn't capture it well enough on film. Maybe I will retake the pictures in the morning with natural light.

I made another set of yellow stitch markers that i think i'm going to give to my swap partner for the yarn scavenger hunt... but i don't know how to "work" it into the categories...

i got the ring in the mail today from another etsy seller. I purchased ring backs to make rings out of the fused glass that i purchased like 2 years ago. I am finally making rings of them.

I also made other rings cuz i felt crafty today, and then i broke out the beads to make some stitch markers, i was getting bored of coming up with just knitting terms, sooo new things had to be thought up.

well i made stitch markers with my etsy SN on it to make it for my Avatar.

I think instead of having a whole table at the north park craft show, I shall just donate swag...

dare i venture into setting up a table for a craft show? there are openings in a san diego craft show... the table fee is only $75, which i don't think i'll make that much to cover the fees, but it would be a good experience no? Maybe I should just sign up, and just do it, and have no fear about not selling... hm. what an adventure!

just got motivated to list a few things on etsy, nothing new, just the same old stuff, but just wanted to list more items.

other than that, no news really.

Does maintaining an online business mean you have to add new things all the time? is that how sales are made because you don't know when people are available to browse, so... hm... something to think about i guess.

i ran out of letters to spell out words, cuz there's only so many K's, and P's, but I was unable to find the regular alphabeads, instead I came upon colored alphabeads. I thought I'd give it a go, why not right?

I was really aprehensive about it, how was it going to look to have the colors all mixed up, how was i going to mix the beads? In the end, it turned out ok. the different colors, does not offend the eyes, it's not too much color, the different colors are just mixed right enough to be colorful, but not too much.

I'm really glad I took a chance.

I am also working on a new item...that's not related to the knitting markers, or the earrings... I have a few finishing touches on it then it shall be ready to go.

the greens... i love these orbs, it looks way way better in person than I can ever catch them on photo. It's all the green... I am very into greens lately.

these orange ones are a nice contrast to the green ones.

I love how the nice dark green color of the crystals.

I forgot to sleep last night, and this is what I did during the night. I mean, these weren't the only ones that I made, but these were the only ones that i photographed and made into actual stitch markers.

I also made some with black beads, and they look rather nice, it's a nice different look when you add black to the equation. I have this pair that I want to name, Roxy Carmichael, if you have seen that movie with wyona ryder... maybe I will finish it and post it later.

I thought I'd try out my own stitch markers on the lace pattern that I'm working on right now. Perhaps its the way that the crystals are sparkly, but it really sparkles and brightens the project.

Look at how dull the plastic heart looks, and how at how pretty the right side of the WIP is...

makes knitting much prettier, as if I need a whole another thing to start buying now.

all i talk about is yarn related things now...it is sad. I don't even post in my regular non-knitting blog...

well onto more yarn talk. Three skeins of the Quick & Chunky was brought over to me...in dark gray. It's really thick yarn...It had a pattern for a hat on there, I decided to swatch it with my No. 10 needles to see if it would work as a substitue. If not, I shall take it to make the crochet version of the calorimetry.

I continued weaving in the ends to Helen's Scarf...boy is it taking forever...as it turns out, I could have just carried the yarn when it's one row of color change...but the thing is...i'm working on it with turns...so when i turn it...I have to use the new color...am i suppose to twist the color change at the last stitch? I think this is something i'll have to think about.

went into my LYS...it's ran by a darting/mousey looking lady...but no matter she carries thin yarn that i can touch...I shall be visiting again that's for sure...it's not as nicely kept, like there's no readily readable label...so i'm guessing I'll have to ask around. Maybe I'll take our cook with me. She seems friendly and happy.

only 4 more days...and i'm about to crack! If i had the free transportation myself, i'd run out there and buy up anything and everything in sight.

this is bad...i mean i have yarn coming to me too..it's on it's way as we speak...that's not soon enough for me apparently.

also...the needle that was lent to me fell into the crack between the sofa that i was sitting on, and I can not get to it... I only hope that the girl i talked to will go to the store to buy me two more...one for her and one for me.

I wanted to make an ear warmer...so I started on that...but i didn't have enough yarn to complete it...so that's also being put on hold.

Here are Cynthia's Fuzzies! Made from her what was her Leg Warmers. I had enough left over to make a solid scarf. When I say solid...i mean it's thick. i hope some good use gets out of it, since it hasn't been cold lately anywhere!

I also have no more yarn here in China...except maybe scraps left over from these various projects...I am having my yarn stash sent with some warmer clothes...it's a good thing because i think i'd have to crack and buy yarn...only 4 more days...i can hang in there! i think.

so tonight, i am weaving in the numerous ends of the Helen scarf...there are many due to the color changes & what not. I'm hoping the end weaving will last me the whole night so that at when tomorrow comes, i can start on a new project.

I suppose I will search for what i should make next. I have a couple of choices... the calimetory from knitty, a cupcake purse from crochetville...

I am suppose to be making a scarf for Abraham...but actually i don't know if he would wear it? what else could i make a guy?

Merry Christmas. So how did i spend my Christmas day you ask? at home...mostly sleeping...I was a bit sick, and felt ill all day...so i left work early & slept the rest of the time. After being waken up for dinner, i took a pill & felt better so, I ended up finishing Fill's mittens...FINALLY! third time's a charm i suppose. It's taken me forever due to the fact that I frogged it so many times. the first mitten was made and then it was too oddily shaped. the second mitten, left hand was made, but it was super huge...so I decided to frog the right hand mitten & make it just as big as the left hand mitten. AND just when i thought i was finished...It turned out, i made TWO left hand, and NO right hand. I had to remake the second left hand, into the right. It's a good thing the only difference is the mitten top, so the mitten top was frogged, and reattached tonight...and now...TADA! we have a fully functional convertible mittens! I hope fill likes it...it at least took 3 days...if i hadn't taken all those days off in between... this project wasn't hard, just there's a lot of directions and lots of counting for me.

Crocheted Mittens/Fingerless Gloves from www.crochetandknitting.com/mitglov2.htm ( i made the women version cuz it's sized smaller.)

as for alterations i made... For the thumb part, I cut out a round in 2 to 7 and only did 7 rounds not 8 rounds.

For the palm part: I only did 3 rounds.

For the mitten part, I didn't do round 13...due to the smaller hands.

Yarn Used: Patons Quick & Chunky Tweeds in the color Biscuit Beige, and used what seems like a 8/0 hook from my cheap SKC hook stash. I used two skeins...one for each mitten with a small amount left over.

It's a quick crochet project if you didn't span it over weeks...less than 6 hours per glove for me is how long i calculated it.

I would consider in making this again in a different yarn...perhaps if I used a thinner yarn, then the glove wouldn't be so large.

i thought i was going to be finally finished with Fill's crochet mittens when... I realised I made two left mittens!!!

and i was so careful at trying to not do that! BUT it happened to me anyway!

I knew exactly where it was that I went wrong. It was when I was attaching the mitten top part... I totally got lost in trying to figure out the exact where it should go and totally forgot to make sure i was putting it on the left side, not right!

and i was so excited that i was finished!!!

well...i guess I shall frog the mitten top and start over. I'm getting pretty good at it...having to frog over and over and over again...

he better wear this mitten ALL THE TIME!!!

P.S. I scooped out my LYS...it's so close...totally within walking distance...if I was allowed to walk outside of these walls!

Cynthia's Leg warmers has been transformed into maryjane slippers & a solid crochet scarf. It's very pink...i hope she likes it. I'd post a picture...but i think i'll wait until she gets it.

I have also ran out of yarn here in China. ONLY 1 more skein that's suppose to be DBF's mittens, which i'm thinking of frogging it and redoing it...If I knew then I wouldn't have taken all that time in weaving in the ends of the first one. ::sigh::

i'm going to use the women's pattern for DBF since his hands are similiar in size to mine...

note to self: do not be afraid of frogging projects, you'll like the results of a project that has been done well better. although it's much eaiser to frog a crochet then a knit...knitting you have to make sure you put the needle back to where it is...as opposed to a crochet where you just rip and rip til it's where you messed up, and you don't have to worry about sticking the other needle back in.

i'm going to try to dicipher that afghan pattern that cyn sent me...

i so need to find an needle so that i don't keep using bobby pins.

I finished crochetting the Harry Potter Scarf, which I'm now calling the Helen Scarf due to her demanding a scarf from me.

It's a bit different in texture then i would have liked, but...I suppose it'll do. It's a quick crochet...finished it in like 6-7 hours..way quicker then Aaron's Scarf which i knitted on the plane.

You'd have to excuse the ends...didn't get a chance to weave them in yet...I don't think I have my needle, might have to purchase another one.

This is what it looked like on Wednesday...I barely had an hour on my lunch break to crochet it...and that was all i can do...plus i realised that i was doing the stripes wrong...the second stripe was smaller...thus I decided to interchange the stripes.

And then as I was working my way through the repeats I realised that I was running out of the cranberry color...but had MORE of the pink heather color...so I finished the repeat pattern i was working on, and switched the colors up...

thus getting that weird two scarf in one combo.

towards the end there are more ends to weave in due to me not having enough of the cranberry to complete the full length of the scarf...i didn't want it to be unbalanced. So i scrounged up scraps of the cranberry yarn i had...i was even tempted to cut the weave ends shorter to finish the scarf if i have to...luckily i had enough yarn. ::wipe sweat::

I like how it turned out... i just gotta weave in the ends now.

a barrel of frogs!

I decided last night to frog Cyn's original knitted present...due to the fact that it's so HUGE. The sizing was wrong...and use the yarn for something else. I think I'm going to make a pair of slippers from the yarn that i frogged. It's still pretty yarn with that mohair stuff.

Maybe use the other parts for the calimetory... sounds like a good new plan.

I also made another pair of those slippers out of the same yarn as mine. This time, I made them better.

I also started a Harry Potter scarf out of the Valentine colors...i like how it's going... it's crochet, and i think i discovered that I might have been crochetting wrongly...HM...I don't know. i shall see i suppose.

It's so much faster to crochet, but i only know a couple of different variations... I can knit more stuff. Like i know more knitting techniques.

Okay...so Nemo's scarf is altered a bit. I got tired of working with the pattern heart, and just finished the three repeats & then bind it off, and made the scarf round, like a earwarmer...if Nemo had ears. It's a circular scarf, and it fit just perfectly with the three repeats of the hearts. But the colors are a bit ahead of its time...as in it's Valentine's color...what can i say, My nemo is fashion forward.

The other thing I finished up is the maryjane slippers that took 20 mins for the original poster. It took me an hour each for each slipper. But 3 total because the first one I made was off...the second one fit better...so I had to frog the first one to make it sorta match the second one. I was able to frog it and redo the piece because it was just ONE long piece of string, so I knew there would be enough yarn to remake it...and not have to worry about it cutting short or what not...
